The Next Big Thing
For a while now, my internet persona has remained unchanged while my real life manifestation has been really going places. But what else is new? Regardless, there are some important things that you may not know that you should:
1. As of August 1st, I'll once again be living in Bloomington, IN. Jeff and I are moving into a cute little house on S. Rogers (the current DBH HQ) and really couldn't be more happy about it. Please note the return to my old PO Box - PO BOX 3382, 47402. Everything about this move is exciting to me.
2. This means that I'm leaving Richmond where I've lived for the past few years. I have made a lot of good friends here and have really come to love many things about it. We're going to keep the band together, though, which will be a good reason to stay connected here. I am sentimental about leaving but also know it's the right thing. That said, we're having a going-away party on July 26th so see you there. It's going to be a real rager.
3. I am working on making my friend Nate a new website for his art and goings-on. It's not done yet or anything but it's up there anyhow. He's going to have a lot happening for him this fall when he puts out a new graphic novel with a Successful Comics Publisher that will have fancy quotes on its hardcover dust-jacket. It will be one of the coolest comics you have ever read. I am very proud of him and you should look at and buy his shit.
4. I have a song on the newly released Plan-It-X comp but here is a correction: it says that the Abe Froman song on there ("The Most Beautiful Sight") is new or rare or unreleased. I will contend that it is none of those things because it was on the full-length thing we put out in 2001. Chris worked very hard to put that comp out, though, so check it out and shit. Delay and Spoonboy are both on tour right now and probably have it with them.
I'm really newsy, aren't I? Mostly at this juncture I just want to keep whoever abreast so you don't wonder why I'm showing up when you don't expect me or where I went when I'm not where you think I ought to be. I have a reputation for being a little elusive, I think, but not really by choice (though not answering letters for example is, admittedly, a choice). I plan to be exactly where you might expect, at least for a while. As always, I'm better in person.
